My view on the Walmart strikes

Dear Change in Walmart union.

YOU DON’T SPEAK FOR ME!   You say you want to get me more money but how much of that money would really go to paying your dues?

How much are you going to raise my wages? I already make a good pay for what I do.  I don’t make as much as my brothers who work in a factory but I am NOT facing the same dangers they are nor do I have to have the years of training that they needed to do my job.

You say you want to make my job safer but you plan these walk outs and picket lines on the one night were we rely on the fact of SAFETY in numbers.

When you start working in Retail you should have realize that it means working the holidays.  If it really bothers you that much go find another job.  Oh wait there isn't many other jobs that have the holidays completely off and that list is getting shorter every year.  Most factories might shut down for the holidays but many don’t and, those jobs are hard to find as most of factories are not hiring right now.  Most restaurants and places of entertainment also don’t close on the holidays.

Let’s also look at WHY Walmart and many other retailers are doing these Thanksgiving sales.  On the morning of Black Friday in 2008 a Walmart employee was KILLED when he was trampled by people running in.  By STAYING open and staggering when things go on sale it is SAFER then the mad dash it use to be.  It also runs smoother with the long lines.  As if you are only there for the DVDs you can be in and out before the people who are buying the big ticket items so the lines do get long but, they happen at intervals instead of all at once.

Also I once got an e-mail from you and only in the fine print did you identify yourself as a union.  So how many of your numbers did you TRICK into joining?

I don't need a union for anything.  I have a decent paycheck, full health and life insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, even the chance to further my education.  I also have a safe place to work.
So Thanks for NOTHING.

PACKERS FAN FOR LIFE

I am a Packers fan for life. I know we are having a rough year but, we can't win them all.
All I ever ask of my Packers is to keep it close and, I don't care if they were 0-5 I would still LOVE them.

My favorite all time Player is #92 Reggie White AKA the Minister of Defense partly because he was a minister in the off season.

My two current Favorite players are #50 A.J. Hawk and #52 Clay Matthews. I admit I have a thing for guys with long hair but besides that I love to watch a sack happen or an interception happen.

I am always hoping for a Pick six and I really want to see Matthews do the Lambeau Leap and actually make it into the stand.

If you don't get something in this post don't worry I am going to start blogging about football a little.

V-day update

I know it has been a while since I added anything here sorry.  Not doing well with that New years resolution. :)

On Valentines Day the hubby and I got the best thing we could ever get.  Our notice for Interview with Imagration services.  We have been trying to get Alex's green card for TWO years now.  It has been increadably frustrating.

They give you a list of things to bring that will prove you are in a good faith marrage.  Like bills joint accounts ect... so now Alex is copying every piece of paper we have gotten since our last interview on June 2nd.  He has gone though two cartrigdes of black ink and we have three week to go before the interview.

Since I had to work on Valentine's night we went out on Monday night (when I was off) and saw Safehouse.  Execlent movie!! I will definatly buy that one on DVD.  with my next pay day I want to by Tower Hiest that was a good moive too.

On Valentines day I gave Alex his favorite candy Ferrero Rocher and I laugh at the Deer-in-the-headlights look he gives me.  He had forgoten to get me any thing.  But then he got me a Love bug and two A&W Cream sodas (something I have a hard time finding in Florida)

So maybe not as romantic as some it was perfect for me.

Eczema sucks!

I have eczema which if you don't know is a skin conditon that leaves red ichy spots on the body.  My trouble zone is on the inside of my thigh.  When I get stressed out it gets wrose so I try to countrol my stress levels.

one thing that works the best for soothing it is a long warm bath with Oatmeal in the water.  Our apartment doesn't have a tub so instead I use speical lotions desinged for eczema it helps  some but it still itches like Hell.  I also wear boxerbriefs under my pants so that the seam of my pants don't rub on it.

If any one else has eczema I hope this helps

Being a Packer fan is helping mend fences kind of...

At work I have been having some problems with one of the guys I work with.  We got a new boss who wants things done diffrently and I was telling my coworker how the boss wanted it done.  after spending an hour trying to get him to under stand the new way and telling him he also couldn't take up the whole alse this guy snaps one me about how I am not his Fing boss, and to quit treating him like a child.

Truth is I wasn't treating him any diffrent then I treat any of my other coworks.  I know I am kind of boss so I backed off and lisened to an good half-hour of how I am a Fing this and that.  Bad thing for him our overnight Assistan manager happend to be in the back too and heard his rant.

After a talk with the boss he apolgized and I was ready to forget and forgive.  That is untill the next night.
He was working in the back again and when I caught him doing the job wrong and, in a maner that actualy hurts the count that we are suppost to be doing.  Instead of talking to him and setting him off again I went to the boss.  the Boss went over and asked him how is he doing the job, my coworker LIED.  I hate that if you don't want to do the job right just say so but don't lie and make everyone who works with you look bad.
the boss had me check the bin which means that the boss knew that the other work was lieing.

thats the past. now for the fence fixing.

He was holding a Dolphins rug at the time clock and was talking loudly about not knowing what he was going to do with it.

I half jokingly said "Burn it!"
Mike (his name has been changed) "Just because the Gaints took out your Packers."

"Did your Dolphins even make the Playoffs?"
"We won the last game."

"That's not what I asked." I laughed,
"Yeah yeah your right"

"15-2 is a great record no one else has that this year.  How many did you lose?"
"Hey we took your coach."

"You needed out coach."
it went on and we puched out and contiuned to talk football I know I am in a better place after this talk but it will be interesting to see how working out together ends up.  He is still not doing the job right and I am still having to fix it for him.

Crazy Idea!

Any one who has read this blog probably already knows I am a Green Bay Packers fan.  I am also a Clay Matthews fan.  I find him incredibly hot no use in denying it.  When I saw that he did a PSA for Cure Duchenne it got me thinking.

Back in High school I always wanted to do some big thing for charity but didn’t know what.  I also thought at one time that you could walk from Wisconsin to Florida.  Can anyone seeing where this is going?

Right now I have the Idea of doing a Cure Duchenne walk from my home in Florida to Green Bay Wisconsin.  It’s only 1,552 miles.  It would bring awareness to Duchenne specially if I complete this walk.  I could also raise money.  To keep my cost down I could stay with families who have been affected by Duchenne at night.

I am not saying I am defiantly doing this I am just saying this is an Idea I have.

So over the next year I am going to be getting a second Job to save up to pay the bills while I am walking.  I am going to start doing MS walks in Florida (since there is no walks just for Duchenne) to start training.
